How much does a website cost in Belgium in 2026?

Landing page, showcase website, online shop: what a website really costs in Belgium in 2026, what drives the price and the yearly costs to plan for.

In 2026, a professional website in Belgium costs anywhere from a few hundred euros for a single page to several thousand euros for an online shop or a tailor-made tool. The price depends mainly on the type of site, the number of pages, the features and how much is built to measure. At Novexa Digital, in Mons, prices start at €590 excl. VAT for a landing page, €1,190 excl. VAT for a showcase website, €890 excl. VAT for a redesign and €2,490 excl. VAT for an e-commerce website.

This guide helps you understand what you are paying for, plan your yearly costs and compare quotations with confidence.

Prices by type of website

Prices vary widely from one provider to another. The amounts below are Novexa Digital’s: they give you a concrete reference, excluding VAT, for fully tailor-made work.

Type of website Who is it for? Average timeframe Price from (excl. VAT)
Landing page One offer, one event, one campaign 5 to 7 working days €590
Showcase website (5–6 pages) Tradespeople, shops, professionals 2 to 3 weeks €1,190
Redesign of an existing site Slow, outdated or hard-to-update site 2 to 4 weeks €890
E-commerce website Selling online 4 to 6 weeks €2,490
Booking website Appointment-based businesses Set in the quotation On quotation
Web application Internal tools, client area Set in the quotation On quotation

The “from” price corresponds to a simple project. The final amount is set in a quotation, based on your actual needs.

What makes the price of a website vary

The number of pages and features

A “Contact” page does not require the same work as a catalogue of two hundred products. Every page has to be designed, written, built and tested on mobile. Every extra feature (advanced form, appointment booking, payment, client area) adds development time.

Tailor-made or template

A template bought online lowers the starting cost, but your site will look like many others and often carries unnecessary code that slows it down. A tailor-made design costs more to create, but it is built around your trade, your customers and your image.

Content: texts, photos, logo

Content is a big part of any project. If you provide your texts, photos and logo, the price stays under control. If you need help with copywriting, images or a logo, that work is added to the quotation.

Multilingual sites, a very Belgian question

In Belgium, a website in French and Dutch, or even English, is often a commercial asset. Each language adds pages to build and check, and translations have to be provided or ordered separately. Plan for it from the start: adding a language afterwards takes more work.

SEO and performance

A fast, well-structured website that Google can read easily takes care: titles, descriptions, optimised images, loading time, mobile version. This groundwork should always be included. In-depth SEO support (regular writing, keyword strategy, link building) is a separate service.

Yearly costs to plan for

The build price is only part of the budget. A live website comes with recurring costs:

  • the domain name (for example your-business.be), renewed every year;
  • hosting, the server your website runs on;
  • the SSL certificate, which shows the padlock and “https”;
  • backups and security updates;
  • small changes: opening hours, a price or a photo to update.

At Novexa Digital, these costs are grouped into three hosting and maintenance plans: Essential at €29 excl. VAT per month (hosting, domain name, SSL, backups, security updates), Pro at €59 excl. VAT per month (with maintenance and up to 1 hour of small changes per month) and E-commerce at €99 excl. VAT per month. Plans are taken out for 12 months, with 3 months’ notice.

For an online shop, add the payment provider’s fees, charged on each sale.

VAT: 21% in Belgium

Web providers usually quote prices excluding VAT, because their customers are mostly businesses. Belgian VAT of 21% is added to the invoice.

  • If you are registered for VAT and the website serves your business, you can in principle deduct it.
  • If you fall under the VAT exemption scheme for small businesses, or you are a private individual, the VAT is a real cost for you: think in prices including VAT.

If in doubt, ask your accountant, who will also tell you how to record this expense.

Example: the first-year budget for a showcase website

Let’s take a simple showcase website, using Novexa Digital’s starting prices:

Item Amount excl. VAT
Building the showcase website from €1,190
Essential plan (12 × €29) €348
Total for the first year from €1,538

With the Pro plan (12 × €59, or €708), which includes maintenance and small changes, the total starts at €1,898 excl. VAT. In the following years, only the subscription remains, unless you develop your website further.

Budget site, online builder or tailor-made?

Online website builders let you launch a site yourself for a monthly subscription. It is a valid option for testing an idea, as long as you have the time and some confidence with tools. Their limits show up quickly: a design similar to thousands of other sites, average performance, dependence on the platform and SEO that can be harder to optimise.

A website built by a professional costs more at the start, but you save time and get a result that reflects your business, with a contact person who knows your project. The right question is not only “how much does the website cost?”, but also “how many customers does it need to bring in to pay for itself?”.

How to compare two quotations

Two quotations at the same price can hide very different services. At the very least, check:

  1. The exact scope: number of pages, features, tailor-made design or template.
  2. Who owns the domain name: it should be registered in your name.
  3. Hosting and maintenance: price, commitment period, notice.
  4. The rate for changes after going live (at Novexa Digital: €45 excl. VAT per hour, always with your prior agreement).
  5. Timeframes, and what is expected from you (texts, photos).
  6. Payment terms: deposit, balance, payment deadline.
  7. Your rights to the website and the possibility of changing provider.
  8. The technical foundation: speed, mobile version, SEO, GDPR compliance.

Frequently asked questions

Is a website for less than €500 possible?

Yes, with a do-it-yourself tool or for a very simple page. At Novexa Digital, a tailor-made landing page starts at €590 excl. VAT. A tailor-made website with several pages costs more.

Can I pay for a website in instalments?

At Novexa Digital, a 30% deposit is requested on signature and the balance on delivery. Invoices are payable within 14 days.

Does the build price include hosting?

No: building and hosting are two separate things. Hosting, the domain name and maintenance are covered by a monthly plan.

In short

Allow a few hundred euros for a landing page, a little over a thousand euros for a tailor-made showcase website and a few thousand euros for an online shop, excluding VAT, plus a yearly budget for hosting and maintenance.
